Materials & Care

When selecting our textiles, the focus is on quality and fair production. We hardly use any animal resources for our clothing. That's why we only use synthetic leather to achieve the special aesthetic, but vegan! We prefer to use materials of natural origin, such as cotton and linen, or natural chemical fibers such as lyocell and viscose. We have chosen a high-quality wool material for our knitwear, which has a high level of longevity due to its natural properties and with the right care.

Cotton

Cotton is not only the best-known and most popular textile fiber, but is also one of the oldest cultivated plants in the world. The raw material is obtained from the seed fibers of the ripe fruits of a cotton bush. Due to its fineness and softness, it is very comfortable to wear. In addition to excellent breathability and moisture absorption, it is also extremely skin-friendly, so the allergy potential is very low. The natural fiber of cotton is long-lasting and hard-wearing.

Care instructions

Care is very important so that you can enjoy your favorite OH APRIL cotton item for a long time. You should wash our products at a maximum of 30°C. When washing in the machine, use the delicates program, a liquid mild detergent and spin at a maximum of 400 revolutions. These styles are best dried hanging. In addition, cotton should not be tumble dried and should only be ironed at medium heat.

viscose

Although viscose belongs to the group of chemical fibers, its origin is natural. The fibers are obtained from the raw material wood and its cellulose building block. Viscose is characterized by its pleasant wearing comfort and optimal moisture regulation. It has very good hygienic and skin-friendly properties and is therefore particularly suitable for allergy sufferers.

Care instructions

To ensure the longevity of your OH APRIL viscose styles, care is very important. Viscose should only be washed on a gentle cycle at a maximum of 30°C with a mild detergent. They should only be thrown gently or not at all. Ironing is possible on medium heat; we recommend using a damp ironing cloth. Viscose is not suitable for tumble drying. Please note that viscose may shrink by 5% during the first wash.

Tencel

Tencel Lyocell is a cellulose fiber that is developed and produced by the Austrian company Lenzing. The wood obtained from sustainably managed forests serves as raw material for lyocell fibers. Fiber production is particularly environmentally friendly because the cellulose is processed using an innovative, resource-saving technology.

Tencel material has an exceptionally soft feel and fluid drape. Thanks to the improved breathability and moisture regulation, the fabric has a pleasantly cooling and gentle effect on the skin.

Care instructions

Care is very important so that you can enjoy your favorite OH APRIL Tencel item for a long time. Our products should be hand washed inside out at a maximum of 30°C. To do this, use a mild detergent. Since Tencel Lyocell material is naturally wrinkle-resistant, you can save yourself the trouble of ironing by hanging to dry your clothes. Lyocell does not belong in the dryer.

Linen

The natural fiber linen is obtained from the stems of the flax plant and represents a robust and durable bast fiber. The cultivation of the flax plant and the production of linen is a nature-friendly process, as the natural fiber is very resistant to pests and the use of pesticides can therefore be avoided. In addition to its high strength, linen has particularly good air permeability. The natural material has a cooling effect and is particularly suitable for hot summer days.

Care instructions

To ensure the longevity of your OH APRIL Linen style, care is very important. Linen is a material that is sensitive to abrasion and should therefore only be washed on a gentle cycle or hand washed at a maximum of 30°C. When washing in the machine, use the delicates program, a liquid mild detergent without bleach or fabric softener and spin at a maximum of 400 revolutions. Linen should be ironed slightly damp on medium heat. It is not suitable for the tumble dryer. Linen is a natural material and can change due to external influences such as light or water.

Vegan leather

Our Vegan Leather Styles are made from a mix of synthetic materials. The base material of our fake leather products is made of polyester, the coating consists of the synthetic resin polyurethane. Polyester has become a popular fabric in the textile industry thanks to its uncomplicated properties. The fiber has robust properties compared to natural fibers. It is durable, abrasion-resistant and tear-resistant. Since it absorbs little moisture, it is repellent to water and dirt. The fabric is usually very soft and flows easily due to its low weight.

Care instructions

Care is very important so that you can enjoy your favorite OH APRIL piece made of our fake leather for a long time. Due to the coating, our vegan leather styles do not belong in the washing machine or tumble dryer. They must also not be ironed. Light dirt can be removed with a damp cloth. For larger amounts of dirt, it is best to seek professional cleaning.

Wool

Wool is a natural animal fiber usually obtained from sheep. But it can also come from goats and other animal species. Depending on the origin and type of wool fiber, its properties and strengths can differ. A popular property of wool is its high heat retention capacity. It is therefore particularly suitable for autumn and winter fashion. In addition to its insulating and warming function, wool is also very elastic, breathable and dirt-repellent.

We use 100% merino wool for our current knitwear. It is particularly characterized by very fine fibers and is therefore comfortable to wear on the skin. The Merino wool we use meets the Woolmark Company's high quality and manufacturing standards. The wool, which comes from Australia, is a high-quality and soft wool that is known for its sustainable production. The Australian sheep are kept in a very animal-friendly manner and are sheared particularly gently by hand.
