Materials & Care
When selecting our textiles, the focus is on quality and fair production. We hardly use any animal resources for our clothing. That's why we only use synthetic leather to achieve the special aesthetic, but vegan! We prefer to use materials of natural origin, such as cotton and linen, or natural chemical fibers such as lyocell and viscose. We have chosen a high-quality wool material for our knitwear, which has a high level of longevity due to its natural properties and with the right care.
viscose
Although viscose belongs to the group of chemical fibers, its origin is natural. The fibers are obtained from the raw material wood and its cellulose building block. Viscose is characterized by its pleasant wearing comfort and optimal moisture regulation. It has very good hygienic and skin-friendly properties and is therefore particularly suitable for allergy sufferers.
Care instructions
To ensure the longevity of your OH APRIL viscose styles, care is very important. Viscose should only be washed on a gentle cycle at a maximum of 30°C with a mild detergent. They should only be thrown gently or not at all. Ironing is possible on medium heat; we recommend using a damp ironing cloth. Viscose is not suitable for tumble drying. Please note that viscose may shrink by 5% during the first wash.
Linen
The natural fiber linen is obtained from the stems of the flax plant and represents a robust and durable bast fiber. The cultivation of the flax plant and the production of linen is a nature-friendly process, as the natural fiber is very resistant to pests and the use of pesticides can therefore be avoided. In addition to its high strength, linen has particularly good air permeability. The natural material has a cooling effect and is particularly suitable for hot summer days.
Care instructions
To ensure the longevity of your OH APRIL Linen style, care is very important. Linen is a material that is sensitive to abrasion and should therefore only be washed on a gentle cycle or hand washed at a maximum of 30°C. When washing in the machine, use the delicates program, a liquid mild detergent without bleach or fabric softener and spin at a maximum of 400 revolutions. Linen should be ironed slightly damp on medium heat. It is not suitable for the tumble dryer. Linen is a natural material and can change due to external influences such as light or water.
Wool
Wool is a natural animal fiber usually obtained from sheep. But it can also come from goats and other animal species. Depending on the origin and type of wool fiber, its properties and strengths can differ. A popular property of wool is its high heat retention capacity. It is therefore particularly suitable for autumn and winter fashion. In addition to its insulating and warming function, wool is also very elastic, breathable and dirt-repellent.
We use 100% merino wool for our current knitwear. It is particularly characterized by very fine fibers and is therefore comfortable to wear on the skin. The Merino wool we use meets the Woolmark Company's high quality and manufacturing standards. The wool, which comes from Australia, is a high-quality and soft wool that is known for its sustainable production. The Australian sheep are kept in a very animal-friendly manner and are sheared particularly gently by hand.
Care instructions
Care is very important so that you can enjoy your favorite OH APRIL wool item for a long time. You should wash our wool products at a maximum of 30°C on a gentle cycle or hand wash. We recommend hand washing as wool materials easily become felted. It is best to use a wool detergent. Wool should not be ironed. Plus it doesn't belong in the dryer. We recommend drying lying down so that the material does not warp. Since wool has a self-cleaning effect due to its natural properties, it is not necessary to wash our knitwear frequently.
